Donatello remains unbeaten in…
Donatello remains unbeaten in 8 outings at two and three years of age only because failed to overcome Clairvoyant at the conclusion of the Grand Prix de Paris.
That single defeat certainly served Federico Tesio to gain experience in the preparation of Nearco’s subsequent triumph.
After the victory at Longchamps, Donatello was sold for 47,500 pounds, a huge sum for the time, and was supposed to remain in France but was then diverted to Great Britain to start the Stallion business in 1938.
He left us seventeen years later.
Across the Channel he has…
Across the Channel he has given the winners of 243 races, for 184,802 pounds.
For example the extraordinary Alicydon, Crepello, Acropolis, Supertello.
Crepello is the architect of the flowering of the main line that connects to Donatello, thanks to Busted.
